Ok. . I have been meaning to do this report a while ago, but now that a whole month has passed, I thought I would do a complete month report on what results I have achieved and how much time and money I have invested so far:

Web Traffic Statistics

So first up are the statistics: below is the google analytics for the month of December. Bear in mind this current Blog was only established on the 21st December (prior to that I was using my personal domain name) so really it is for the first 10 days and over christmas. Click on the image to open into a full size image:

Just over 100 Visits - So nothing amazing there (Yet) - and haven’t reached my initial target of 1000 visitors.

But what have I actually achieved in this time?

1. Got my head around wordpress and an understanding of how to set up a word press blog
2. Learnt about some of the best ways to get traffic and started using them.
3. Started to get to know some of the other students!

Capital Invested:

  1. Alex JeffreysCoaching Program : US$497
  2. Domain Names : US7.69
  3. Aweber Autoresponder Account : US$19/Month
  4. Screencapture Software US$89.00
  5. WebHosting US$24.95

Total Costs Accrued : $637.64

Time Invested

Total Time :  87 Hours (Approximately 2 Weeks full time)

So what are the takeaways.  Looking at the time breakdown, I definitely probably shouldn’t have spent so much time working on the look and feel of the blog itself, and spent a bit more time on traffic generation strategies.  I think that would be the main takeaway, focus more on the things that will make the biggest impact on my blog.

Also I’ve been rather picky with the look of my site. . you may notice the site changing quite a bit as I find the right look for it, to the left is  a screen shot of how it looked before.  .any comments thoughts and suggestions would be most appreciated.  The reason i’ve changed from that theme, is because I was told by other students, they thought it looked too comical and not serious enough - what do you think?

MLM, Technology & Web Prosperity - Embrace or Ignore?

Posted on 02. Jan, 2009 by Derrick.

I’ve been exposed to sooo many MLM opportunities since the 1990’s that my usual response now to them is . . . bleh. :)

Not that I think they are bad.  Its just not my cup of tea these days.  I have had a few very good friends get me involved with some of these companies and one thing I have learned is that it is never as easy and simple as the hype that is used to sell them.

To be successful,  as I guess it is with anything you want to be successful at, you really need to live and breath the stuff.  Maybe I’m too old school?  Maybe the internet and technology has changed that?  I don’t know.

web-prosperity

Anyways, why this rant?

Well, about 10 days ago I got a random spam email about this Web Prosperity company. Its been headed up by a David D’Arcangelo (who I possibly may have heard of).  Apparently he headed up  Wealth Mastery with Anthony Robbins.  I haven’t posted earlier, due to my general weariness and healthy skeptism towards MLM’s however a few more people I know have gotten behind it independently of me, prompting me to make this post.

I Value Quality of Product / Service:

I always need to know the quality of the product before I can get behind something.  At the moment they are in prelaunch, and you can’t really demo the software,  which is meant to combine 9 software products into one, including autoresponder and web meeting.

I’m already paying $19/month for aweber and am extremely happy with their service - this is one company that really does customer service right, and web prosperity adds another 8 products including the web meeting (that probably would be the most useful other tool that I would be interested in) starting from $29.

My Verdict

Anyways, from a general product standpoint, it seems to be good value, but I’m waiting to see the product before I make any calls.  As it Is a MLM - that is an affiliate program with multiple tiers, and if the product / service is actually good -

then it could turn out to be a great product to promote so I signed up during this pre-launch period as its FREE to do so, so there’s nothing to lose:) . anyways, if you want to hear about it from the man himself and check it out yourself click on my link here

Love to hear your thoughts & comments,

Derrick
