Happy New Year Everyone!

Just watched the first sunrise of 2009, had a snooze, and thought I’d post my first Video of the year. I had a question from Mark Luciano about how to add poeple to twitter, so I thought the easiest way to show how I did it, was to make a short video. I only had about 20+ people following me, about 24 hours ago, but after discovering this method, have already increased my followers to 300+. . So here’s my video showing exactly what I did!

Hi Derrick,

Thanks for mentioning my site in your video

Like you I grew my Twitter following from 28 to currently 823 followers in around ten days, more people are following me daily.

But if you look on my twitter page: http://twitter.com/stephen_bray you’ll see that I’m only following 516 people. In fact I propose to follow some more soon because now I am going to use Twitter how Alex uses it, which is to see watch what other people in the Industry are doing.

Twitter is very exciting, but as you’re probably discovering it’s far more than simply a numbers game.

Hi Derrick,

Thanks for the video clip regarding Twitter. I’ve been looking for ways to follow more people on Twitter and you’ve clearly showed me an option - great stuff!

You’ll also get a results page with the “follow” option if you go to the find people page and enter a less specific search term in the search bar.

For example, you want to communicate with people in the web design field, on the find people page and you’ll get a nice list of people that have mentioned web design in their twitter profile = http://twitter.com/search/users?q=web+design

Then you can follow all those people, and generally get a good response back as well. It’s great if you’re looking to build a following within a particular niche.

Hi Derrick,

Great video, really good simple content. I just wanted to pass this really good source on to all of the students, it is a free 30 page report with step by step videos on how to set up a Twitter account, to driving a lot of traffic to your site from two Twitter experts.
These guys have build a huge following, and they share all of the steps they have used
to make it happen.I just put a link on my blog, to download the free report.
